Design skateboard graphics

Skate decks are without question one of the coolest products around to design. Everything from their unique shape and size to their tactile finish offers us designers a truly rewarding blank canvas to splash some colour over.

As either a practical street art statement or simply hung from your wall, the power of vector art on a skate deck stands out from the rest of the asphalt jungle. In the following tutorial you'll learn how to rough out and plan your deck, before transferring it into Illustrator and finalising the design using the most important feature for creating vector graphics, the Pen tool. Starting with the template provided, you'll be able to create a deck of your own using some of the pointers we cover in the tutorial.
