The studio showreel that took four years to make

Having forgotten to make a showreel for four years, Dutch studio PlusOne ended up with a lot to cram into a couple of minutes.

Since opening its doors in early 2009, Amsterdam-based design and animation studio PlusOne has been busy building an impressive client list, picking up a number of awards on the way. The studio has been so busy, in fact, that it hasn't had time to put out a showreel - until now.

Creative director Martijn Hogenamp was in charge of the edit, cutting eight minutes' worth of shots down to the final two-and-a-half minutes. "The flow and rhythm was a challenge and so was finding a suitable soundtrack," he says.

"In the end we asked our friend Lennert Busch to create a custom-made track based on our edit, with the sound design crafted by the beautiful Mauricio D'Orey," explains Plusone's Marcel Vrieswijk.
