DAZ 3D: The fastest way to create 3D art

By Creative Bloq Staff

3D software Daz Studio is fun to use, super powerful and totally free.

The added dimension of 3D can really help to bring a piece of 2D artwork to life. But as any digital or 3D artist will attest, to master the discipline takes a lot of time, effort and patience.

Fortunately now, for creatives who are short on time and resources, there’s a quicker way to make great 3D. Using Daz 3D (opens in new tab), artists can jump straight to assembling a scene from modular ready-made components. Daz 3D's marketplace helps creatives find individual elements that work together, and, utilising its powerful toolset, makes 3D creation easy and less time intensive.

Smart content

In Daz Studio (opens in new tab), Smart Figures and Smart Content work together to create fast, custom 3D models that pose, animate and integrate seamlessly into photorealistic renders. The software does all the heavy lifting so artists can concentrate on what they do best: creating.

For even more 3D models, outfits, props, poses, or anything else needed to get the scene right, Daz Shop (opens in new tab) has you covered. One of the largest 3D smart-content marketplaces (opens in new tab), the shop was built by a global community of 3D professionals, who add new assets everyday.

Drag, drop and dial

CharacterKit (opens in new tab), Daz’s drag-and-drop character system, allows all related content to automatically fit your character and stay in position as you pose or change other features. All of the smart figures come with sliders and morph dials to instantly change a character’s height, shape, size, or expression.

Largest Smart-Content library

Daz has one of the largest smart-content library (opens in new tab) available, with over 30,000 products including 3D characters, compatible outfits, props, and environments. With just one-click, you can add auto-fitting, self-correcting and physics-enabled outfits, hair, and props. New content is added every day, plus weekly freebies and ongoing sales for those working on a tight budget.

Cinema quality renders

Daz does the heavy lifting to help create cinema quality 3D artwork. Just pick your content, load it into Studio, and adjust everything from a facial expression to pose with the click of a button. With 8K Texture maps, 6 UDIMs, Hi-Def detail maps, PBR materials, Iray Shaders, and multi-level Sub-D Geometry, you get a photorealistic render easily.

Tutorials

Want to get started? Daz regularly releases new tutorials, so whether you’re new to 3D or an experienced 3D artist wanting to hone your skills, Daz has you covered.
