I think the 3Doodler Pro 3D pen is a must-have tool for designers

This model definitely isn't aimed at children, and has so much potential for crafting.

Our Verdict

I've used several 3D pens over the last few years, and the 3Doodler Pro is by far the best of the bunch. Unlike several others on the market, this one is NOT aimed at children, and actually has a bunch of industrial uses for creative pros – from patching up errors on standard 3D prints, to creating cosplay props from scratch, and prototyping project ideas in a visual way. The pen has a premium design that's well thought out for practicality, is incredibly easy to use (with a quick nozzle changing tool included) and offers superb performance and control for artists and designers. It's also just really fun to use, and I've already wasted hours creating models by hand.

For

  • Very easy to use and control
  • Super compatible with a ton of material spools
  • Professional-grade performance
  • Ergonomic design

Against

  • I found it tricky to change speeds while drawing

Why you can trust Creative Bloq Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

If you're reading this review, then I'm willing to bet you're either already into 3D printing, are an avid crafter, possibly a designer, or perhaps an illustrator looking to dive into three-dimensional drawing. In any case, I've been testing out the 3Doodler Pro pen (2025) over the last few weeks, and I'm astounded by its performance, and more importantly, its potential – making it one of the best 3D pens that money can buy.

Listen, I'm not an artist. And I have no shame in admitting that the power of the 3Doodler Pro has certainly been wasted on my poor abilities when it comes to drawing and design. But in the hands of a true artist, this tool is a must-have for creative professionals and has a ton of industrial uses (see the 5 ways you can use a 3D pen for cosplay).
