Think of Adobe Stock and you might think of photos, illustrations, motion graphics templates, and HD and 4K video footage. But now there’s something new. Adobe Stock is now offering thousands of high-quality, royalty-free music tracks for use in your video projects.
These tracks have been sourced from talented artists, world class composers, and bands from around the globe, in partnership with the highly respected sound agencies Epidemic Sounds and Jamendo. And here’s the best news: you can easily access, preview, edit and license all this great music content directly within Premiere Pro, saving you serious time and effort.
Whether you’re looking to use music to set a specific mood or add a burst of energy to your video, Adobe Stock Audio (opens in new tab) has the right track for you. Read on as we explain how Adobe Stock Audio can make your workflows faster and smoother.
The first thing you want to do is find the perfect track for your video. And that’s super-easy to do. Within Premiere Pro, you can now search thousands of royalty-free tracks using a range of variables, including mood, genre, tempo and duration, as well as by keyword. You’ll find it takes no time at all to find the perfect music for your footage, without ever having to leave your editing space.
Your search specifically takes place within the Essential Sound panel. First, choose the Audio workspace, then start browsing. Search within Mood or Genre to start with, then you can further refine your results via sub-genre, or by using the handy sliders to determine tempo and duration. To narrow your search further, you can also choose whether you want vocals, and even specific voice intonations such as female or male.
02. Preview the track
Want to listen to a track? Press play to preview it, and jump any part of it by clicking in the appropriate part of the waveform graphic. It’s that simple, and very intuitive. Once you’ve found a track you think might work, you then get the opportunity to try it within your edit using Timeline Sync.
03. Edit a preview with your footage
Download a preview of the track and then you’re free to edit it into your project, all without any commitment to purchase. Note that previews are small and heavily compressed, but otherwise do not have any watermark. That you means you can really focus on ensuring this is the right music track for your video, without any irritating distractions. You can complete an entire edit in this way, just as if you already owned the track.
04. Licence the track
Once you’re satisfied the music you’ve chosen is working for your edit, it’s simply a case of licensing it. There are two easy ways to do so, directly inside Premiere Pro: either click the shopping cart within your Essential Sound panel, or from the Project panel.
It just takes a few clicks to own your music track outright, and then comes the real kicker: you don’t need to do any more work. The licensed, high-quality versions of your music tracks automatically replaces the preview files throughout your edit, in sync with your timeline. Job done!
