The powerful tool every game designer should own

By Creative Bloq Staff

Super power and portability, the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo laptop is the perfect hardware solution for mobile game designers.

Game designers and developers require a specific set of digital tools in order to both successfully design and code games. More often that not this would require various different hardware and software solutions – until now. The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo provides all the tools game designers need in a highly portably, powerful and elegant package.

Interactions for every scenario

The ZenBook Pro Duo features not one but two colour accurate 4K displays. The main screen features rich colours, inky blacks and the traditional proportions of a standard laptop. But look below it and tradition is nowhere to be seen, instead the space usually occupied by a keyboard is a second super-wide 4K screen, which presents a paper-like surface that makes digital painting and drawing a dream.

Both screens are touch sensitive and support any muscle memory built through use of smartphones and tablets. Having a stylus for one screen and using gestures with the other (or both) offers a rich, interactive experience, which can be tailored to suit any creative workflow. Being able to free up the main screen for graph views, 3D viewports or command windows, by moving less frequently used panels to the second screen, is a game-changing feature for a mobile workstation.

Breaking with tradition

Asus breaks away from the norm with the design of the ZenBook Pro Duo, with the position of the second 4K display has pushing its keyboard to the front edge of the device for a highly comfortable user experience. For tasks which require use of the second screen for extended periods, the keyboard can be easily locked to prevent unintentional tool selections.

And that's not the only in-built trick up the ZenBook Pro Duo's sleeve – the trackpad (also moved to a new home on the right-hand-side) also doubles as a glowing blue number pad.

Heavy-hitting backline

The ZenBook Pro Duo isn't a case of style over substance – far from it. With the latest 9th generation Intel Core i9 CPU and NVIDIA’s super-fast RTX 2060 GPU, there is plenty of power on tap for interactive realtime projects, asset creation and game level layout, as well as compiling code for running on delivery platforms. You can even work with realtime raytracing thanks to the power of the in-built GPU.

Don't have the right amount of power? Asus offers scalability, allowing users to specify storage and drive sizes to suit.

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo (opens in new tab) offers the versatility and power to meet the needs of any interactive game developer and designer. Uncompromising power, functionality and flexibility, the ZenBook Pro Duo is the perfect solution for busy creatives on the go.
