Asus ZenBook Pro Duo: The new must-have tool for illustrators

By Creative Bloq Staff

Highly powerful and portable, this is the perfect mobile workflow solution for digital illustrators.

With the ZenBook Pro Duo, Asus has developed a laptop that allows illustrators and digital artists to work whenever, wherever without any creative restrictions. Armed with an impressive amount of power and functionality, the ZenBook Pro Duo is a piece of kit every digital artist should own.

The laptop comes complete with not one, but two colour accurate, 4K displays, both of which are touch sensitive. The main display, a rich and glossy screen is perfect to oversee artwork and colour picking from swatches. The other display, which features a gorgeous paper-like surface, makes for an excellent sketching and drawing experience. And there's no chance of any accidents, with Asus fitting a simple shortcut to lock the keyboard during sketching and painting sessions.

Elegant ergonomics

If, however, you prefer to use the larger screen as your main display, you can do so with ease and comfort. The addition of a second screen has moved the keyboard to the front edge of the laptop, meaning no more uncomfortable reach over.

Similarly, the trackpad resides on the far right, reducing wrist strain and offering a much more natural and comfortable working position. It also houses a quick command to turn it into a glowing number pad, which Asus has applied in a way that lets you continue using it as a trackpad, even when in number pad mode.

This choice of workflow frees up the second screen for docking extra windows, tool palettes, reference material or simply keeping an eye on your emails. Asus has implemented a fantastic on-screen icon too, so when you click and drag on a window, a context sensitive pop-up appears to help you decide your optimum working layout.

Super powers

Under the hood, the ZenBook Pro Duo is equally as impressive. Its computing power – an Intel Core i9 9th generation processor – is more than capable of handling the most complex, multi-layered files. Running your creative software of choice and the two 4K screens is the ever-so-powerful NVIDIA RTX 2060 GPU, which does so with super speed and efficiency. Asus also offers scalable specifications, so you can pick the perfect combination of power, storage and RAM for you.

Asus has taken all the power and peripherals you might find in a studio, and built it into a beautiful, highly portable and sought-after device. No matter where you want to work, the ZenBook Pro Duo puts an end to creative compromises – it's the perfect mobile solution for digital illustrators.
