The reception to Apple's Liquid Glass has been tumultuous, to say the least. While some fans were elated at the concept of a brand new design language after years of stagnation, others were unconvinced, comparing it to the classic 2007 Windows Vista.
Since its launch back in September, Liquid Glass has remained divisive, and its latest iOS 27 update hasn't helped matters. For some eagle-eyed Apple fans, the software refresh has caused some visual unpleasantness that can't be ignored, but is it a major flaw or just some good ol' internet nitpicking?

One disgruntled user took to X to share their findings, questioning, "Why is the content behind Liquid Glass in iOS 27 so low resolution?" Attached is a zoomed-in image of the iPhone clock, blurred behind a Liquid Glass panel. Admittedly, it's a small detail that could easily be missed, but that didn't stop fans from debating the design blip.
Many suggested it was down to performance, with one X user writing, "Apple removed the Gaussian blur, and now the lower resolution is exposed. Maybe it’s a technique they used to save RAM or GPU usage." Another joked, "Your liquid glass is just a little foggy. You clearly need to buy the $19 Apple Polishing Cloth," while one X user wrote "I legit didn’t notice this until now. It’s such a non-issue?"
It's worth noting that the new iOS 27 update is currently in public beta and will likely receive some tweaks before it's officially rolled out in September. Whether this issue is enough of an eyesore for Apple to address remains to be seen.
