Corel Painter 2021: Transform your artwork with these powerful new AI tools

By Creative Bloq Staff

Harness the power of new Artificial Intelligence and Clone Tinting tools in this pro digital art studio.

When it comes to digital art software, creatives are spoilt for choice. But one programme really getting creatives excited right now is Corel Painter 2021. The professional digital art studio has recently undergone a major update, and now boasts powerful tools that outperform the competition.

The update adds a host of new features, tools and performance enhancements, all designed specifically to enhance artists' workflow. And it's new Artificial Intelligence and Clone Tinting features are a welcome and exciting new addition to the already impressive digital art software.

In the second of a three-part series looking at Corel Painter 2021's killer new features, artist Davey Baker demonstrates these two powerful new features:

Amazing AI Styles

The new Artificial Intelligence feature in Corel Painter 2021 allows you to transform your artwork. There are 12 AI Styles and 9 presets to choose from, including coloured pencil, bold architecture and painter landscape (shown in the video above).

The AI Styles allow you to create some really interesting shapes, and fully customise an image by changing the strengths and the smoothness. This tool could be particularly useful when creating illustrations for a magazine or something similar.

All-new Clone Tinting

Corel Painter 2021's new Clone Tinting feature will be a very welcome addition for artists and designers alike, allowing users to blend source imagery with any chosen colour for truly realistic and authentic results.

First you need to create the clone source image from the original painting. Then select the Clone Tinting brush category and the brush of your choice. Choose any colour you like to subtly tint areas of the image. Now we have the image selected we can go back to the clone tool. By creating a new layer above the painting we can now choose a different colour and tint some of the areas that need to be adjusted.
