Adobe is bringing its trailblazing ethical AI philosophy into a partnership with The Bionic Awards. More than just an AI film festival, The Bionic Awards celebrates the creativity of bold visual storytellers in the age of AI. This is the perfect fit for Adobe, which has always put the creator at the centre of its AI strategy – empowering creativity with the addition of powerful AI tools, but never allowing those tools to replace the human creator.
The Bionic Awards is an independent global showcase of what human creators can do with cutting edge tools, and it’s open for entries now until January 25. Adobe and The Bionic Awards are even offering the chance to gain global prominence and a viable path to a sustainable career by inviting all nominees to an AI Creativity Summit in London in March 2026.
With 12 categories spanning advertising, experimental and craft, the awards are open to creatives using AI meaningfully to create film. So if you have an outstanding original project that fits the criteria, you need to take note of this innovative awards scheme. The Bionic Awards are open to solo and freelance creators, as well as top-level agencies.
Why should you enter?
Co-founder Alex Pell says that The Bionic Awards are here to support creators in sustaining their careers while embracing technology through celebration of the possibilities created by AI. “The tide has turned on conventional creativity,” he says. “You can ignore reality and wait for the waves to find you, or learn to swim. The Bionic Awards helps creators all over the world to find a brighter horizon.” While some creators might still feel worried about the impact of AI on human careers, it’s clear the team behind the initiative are motivated by the issue and are taking steps to ensure a future where humans and technology can prosper together.
The judging panel is on the same page, including some notable figures who have embraced the possibilities of AI and seen the benefits. “I was a web designer for 15 years and did not have the opportunity to retrain in film,” says Diane Laidlaw (Afro Futcha). “But AI has unlocked the door for me to become a filmmaker and it can do the same for creatives everywhere.”
Commenting on the partnership, Simon Morris, Vice President, International Marketing, Adobe said: “At Adobe, we believe that AI should serve as a powerful co-pilot, not a replacement, for human creativity. We’re really excited by what Alex, Andy and the team are creating with Bionic – it’s a vital step in a shared commitment to empower the next generation of creators as they navigate the evolving landscape of AI. We’re looking forward to working with the team over the coming months to celebrate the creative pioneers that are already defining what’s possible with this new technology.” Simon Morris is judging the “Most Creative Influencer” category for the awards.
That essential positioning of humans at the centre of creativity is also echoed elsewhere in the judging panel, with Brandon Baum, Bionic Awards judge commenting: “Tools don’t make stories, storytellers do. So I can’t wait for The Bionic Awards entries to reveal what the next generation of creators have unleashed with their own imagination.”
So if you want the chance to show off what you’ve achieved in this early age of AI creativity, enter The Bionic Awards. You could get to showcase your work at the AI Creativity Summit in London, and be awarded for your innovation.
