The op-art loving side of the internet has developed a new obsession – the reverspective optical illusion. Taking Reddit by storm, the simple yet ultra-satisfying visual transforms right before our eyes, demonstrating the power of artistic ingenuity and depth perception trickery.
The best optical illusions often catch us by surprise, and this unassuming piece is no different. Transforming flat paintings into immersive worlds, the amazing artwork has captivated illusion fans, boggling brains across the globe.
this belongs here from r/opticalillusions
Shared on the r/opticalillusions subreddit, the unassuming video quickly turns into a mind-bending moment as the astounding reverspective illusion is unveiled. Complete with a caption calling the piece a work of "5D art," many illusion fans were amazed, while others were slightly miffed by the misleading claim.
As one user rightly clarifies, "5D art doesn't exist," and the design is in fact an example of 3D sculptural painting, using a "square frustum" (a pyramid with the top cut off) and some clever artistic skill. It turns out the bold 5D claim is just a bit of playful marketing – you can get hold of your own version on Amazon for under $10.
Get your very own mind-bending optical illusion to impress unsuspecting house guests. Compatible as a desk lamp or wall hanging, this unique piece is definitely a conversation starter...
