This 5K monitor delivers 99% DCI-P3 colour accuracy and factory calibration for your creative work, and comes with a clever dual-mode feature switching to 120Hz for gaming. The minimalistic design, 5120x2880 resolution and USB-C connectivity with 65W power delivery make it ideal for creatives. Exceptional value.

Dual-mode versatility for work and play

What sets the KTC H27P3 apart from many 5K monitors is its thoughtful balance between creative accuracy and gaming capability. The dual-mode feature genuinely works, allowing you to easily switch from 5K at 60Hz for detailed creative work, to QHD 1440p at 120Hz for smooth gaming. This makes it a great choice for creatives who want one monitor that handles both serious work and after-hours gaming.

The colour accuracy is genuinely impressive for the price. With 99% DCI-P3 coverage and factory calibration achieving ΔE<2, colours appear natural and accurate rather than hyper-saturated. Whilst it doesn't quite reach full Adobe RGB coverage (hitting 88%), this is more than sufficient for video editing, web design, and light-to-mid-level photography work. Only high-end print and pre-press work would require something more expensive.

The matte screen finish deserves special mention too; it strikes the perfect balance between reducing glare and maintaining image clarity, making it ideal for offices with challenging lighting conditions. The thin bezels also mean multiple monitors sit beautifully alongside each other for multi-display setups.

Premium features, affordable price

Connection options are well-considered, with USB-C (supporting 65W power delivery), HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 all supporting the full 5K resolution. Mac users will particularly benefit from single-cable connectivity; just plug in USB-C for both display and charging. The two additional USB 3.0 ports provide basic hub functionality for peripherals.

Build quality, meanwhile, is excellent at this price point, even before the Black Friday discount. The monitor feels solid and premium, though the minimalistic T-shaped stand offers limited adjustment – only tilt, with no height or swivel options. However, VESA mounting is supported if you need more flexibility. The lack of built-in speakers is another minor omission, but let's face it, most of us use dedicated audio solutions anyway.
