3 things I love about the Dell 16 Premium (and 1 I don't)
I felt so strongly about it that I made a video. A VIDEO!
The Dell 16 Premium laptop has been living on my desk for a bit, and I’ve reached that stage of testing where the honeymoon period is over, the real personality emerges, and I start forming Opinions with a capital O. In my time with it, I've found three things Dell absolutely nailed... and the one baffling decision that made me stare into the middle distance like a Victorian widow.
Watch my video below for a full rundown of my likes and one (intense) dislike, but here's the Cliff's Notes...
BIG W #1: GLORIOUS GLORIOUS TOUCHSCREEN
Ooh, I like me a touchscreen, especially one this big and bright. 16 inches, several billion nits of brightness (or y'know, 500ish), and every colour of the sRGB rainbow.
BIG W #2: BEAUTIFUL, ERGONOMIC KEYBOARD
I'm normally not a fan of low-profile, on-laptop keyboards (I tend to connect an external one almost immediately to any laptop I use), but this one is nice, responsive and well-spaced.
BIG W #3: PERFORMANCE OUT THE WAZOO
Daily design news, reviews, how-tos and more, as picked by the editors.
I haven't run every benchmark test yet, but my experience with gaming and creative apps so far is thoroughly impressive.
BIG L #1: WHERE. IS. THE. TOUCHPAD.
Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should (design an invisible touchpad).
