I found myself using tablet mode far more than expected because the weight distribution makes it comfortable to hold for sketching or marking up documents. The Nano Pen lives inside the body, charges automatically and is always ready to go. It is a small detail that makes a big difference by removing the usual stylus faff.

The OLED screen is the real showstopper. The 14-inch panel is bright, rich and wonderfully contrasty. Blacks look genuinely deep, and colours have the kind of punch that makes photo editing and illustration feel more immersive. Writing, browsing, photo edits, sketching and light video work all feel smooth. The vapour chamber cooling keeps noise levels low and the fans rarely become distracting. MSI’s AI Engine adjusts performance and cooling depending on what you are doing and I found it surprisingly helpful. It keeps the machine feeling consistent without constant manual tweaking.

The stylus experience is one of the best parts of the device. The Nano Pen is comfortable to use and the charging system is clever. A quick dock gives you enough power for a full hour of sketching. Pressure response is good and tablet mode makes drawing feel natural. For concept art, note-taking, storyboarding and quick visual ideas it is excellent. It is the kind of stylus experience that encourages you to use it more often.

Where the machine struggles is with heavier graphics workloads. Intel Arc is capable for light creative tasks, but once you push into more demanding video timelines, 3D work or large-batch photo processing, the limits become clear. Export times slow down, and real-time previews can stutter. This is not a workstation-class device, and creative users who rely on GPU acceleration will notice the ceiling. For hybrid creators who mix writing, design, illustration and light editing, it performs well. For those who need sustained graphics power, it will feel constrained.

Battery life

Battery life is impressive. The 81Wh pack delivers long sessions away from the charger and I regularly saw full workdays without needing to plug in. Light creative work and general productivity are where it shines. Heavy graphics tasks reduce longevity, but overall it is a strong performer. I don't see it reaching 30 hours like advertised, unless you're literally just using Notepad, but a couple of light-duty work or school days will whizz by without a worry about power outlets in the vicinity.

Price

The MSI Prestige 14 Flip AI+, in the spec I tested it, lands at £1449 in the UK and $1299.99 in the US before discounts. In the UK it is easy enough to find, but in the US it feels a bit like spotting a rare Pokémon. Stock exists, but you may need to hunt for it. At this price it sits shoulder to shoulder with premium hybrid rivals like the ASUS Zenbook Flip and the Surface Laptop Studio.

The MSI offers excellent value if your creative life leans toward sketching, annotating and colour-critical work. If your workflow depends on strong GPU grunt, that value equation shifts and you may want to look elsewhere.
