RAM crisis? What RAM crisis? These RTX-loaded gaming laptop Prime Day deals are worth jumping on
If you want a power laptop, now's the time to take the leap.
Here’s the thing: modern gaming laptops aren’t just for gamers. They’re great laptops for graphic design in (sometimes garish) disguise, creative workhorses that can chew through 3D renders, video edits, and chunky Photoshop files just as happily as they run Baldur’s Gate 3. Just with a bit more RGB flair. And unlike the overpriced, single‑purpose Steam Machine, a good gaming laptop gives you versatility: real keyboards, loads of ports, oodles of power, and the freedom to work or play wherever you land.
So if Prime Day/Week has scrambled your focus, we've managed to track down four easy wins this Prime Day. If you grab one of these discounted gaming laptops now, you've sidestepped the RAM crisis and upgraded your creative toolkit in one go.
The MSI Katana 15 HX might have the slightly ageing 14th-gen processor on board, but it's a solid chip, AND you get an RTX 5070 card too, along with 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD storage. It's more graphic oomph than an M5 Pro MacBook, and for considerably less now it's $370 off.
The Acer Nitro V 16S is a little more affordable, as it comes with a 5060 card instead of a 5070, but it will still run 3D software and the latest games on high settings, and it has 32GB of RAM plus a 1TB SSD like the MSI above.
The eagle-eyed among you will have noticed I have a soft spot for ASUS, and their creative laptops in particular, for their elegant approach to both function and design. The ROG Strix contains none of such nuance, but underneath the, erm, loud exterior, you'll find an extremely capable Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, the RTX 5070 Ti graphics card from Nvidia and 32GB of delicious, high-performance RAM.
Perhaps the most attractive discount, if you can afford it, is for this Predator Helios Neo 16 AI. With a top-spec processor, the 5070 Ti card and 1TB Gen4 SSD on board, getting one at a $600 discount qualifies damn near a bargain to me. The only downside here is that you only get 16GB of RAM though... That's not quite a farm, but will do in a pinch.
And if you're elsewhere in the world (I know, other places than the USA exist, amazing), please keep a keen eye on the below deals widget that will show you the best deals in your territory.
