The CG2700X is unapologetically functional. Its design leans heavily toward the old‑school aesthetic Eizo has stuck with for years: thick bezels, a chunky chassis, and a lot of visible plastic. For a monitor at this price, it’s not exactly exciting to look at.
But practicality wins out. The stand is superb, offering height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments with smooth movement. The bundled hood attaches magnetically and does a great job of reducing glare. Around the back, the punched‑metal ventilation design keeps the panel cool without relying on noisy fans.
It’s not pretty, but it’s built for serious work first and foremost.

Watching it in action is genuinely cool, and more importantly, it delivers excellent results. Combined with Eizo's ColorNavigator 7 software, you can schedule automatic recalibrations and maintain perfect accuracy without having to bring in third‑party tools.
Connectivity is another strong point. USB‑C handles video, data, and up to 94W of power delivery, meaning you can run a MacBook Pro or high‑end laptop from a single cable. The built‑in LAN port is ideal for studio workflows, especially when using ColorNavigator Network for remote colour management.
Preset colour modes are easy to access, and the OSD is far more intuitive than most monitors; a small but meaningful quality‑of‑life win.

Colours are rich, accurate, and consistent across the entire panel thanks to EIZO’s digital uniformity equalizer (DUE) software working its magic from the inside. The wide gamut coverage (98% DCI‑P3, 99% Adobe RGB) makes it ideal for cinema‑grade colour work, photography, and high‑end post‑production.
HDR support is strong, with both PQ and HLG curves and a peak brightness of 500 nits. In my measurements, I got 498 nits, which is close enough to call it a margin of error. It’s not a replacement for a dedicated HDR reference monitor, but it’s more than capable for HDR editing and grading.
The only real limitation is refresh rate, which maxes out at 60Hz. This is not a gaming monitor, nor is it ideal for game development workflows that rely on high‑refresh previews. But for colour‑critical work, it’s simply exceptional.
