Anycubic's new Kobra X is $100 off, despite having just launched

For anyone familiar with Anycubic 3D printers, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that we might have a new model on the way, in the form of the Anycubic Kobra 4, but the bad news? The Anycubic Kobra X is currently $100 / £100 off for a limited time on Anycubic's website.

How is that bad news? I hear you ask. It's not if you're currently shopping for one of the best 3D printers, but for a lot of loyal Anycubic users, shipments for the Anycubic Kobra X (the latest FDM model from Anycubic) are only just turning up at their doors. Now it's available for less? I'd be ticked off, personally.

There's no denying that Anycubic makes great 3D printers – if we pretend that the Anycubic Kobra S1 series never happened – but I think the company really needs to slow down and perfect what it has before rushing to release something new. I've only just had a chance to review the Anycubic Kobra 3 V2, and now the X has landed, and (presumably) the Kobra 4 is heading our way.

This only makes things confusing for newcomers to 3D printing, with too many options to pick from, and frustrating for customers saving up for shiny new machines just to have them be replaced by something else a few months later. In any case, if you're hoping for a good deal on the Anycubic Kobra X, I've got you covered.

ANYCUBIC Kobra X: was $399 now $299 at Anycubic

The Kobra X is different from Anycubic's usual Kobra series (like the 2 and 3) in that it is the first model to have a spool holder built into the top rail. This means that you're getting multicolour compatibility straight off the bat, without the need for an ACE Pro (sold separately).

If you're deciding between the Kobra X and the Kobra 3, I'd choose the X personally. The main reason being that you don't need to rely on an automated material system like the Anycubic Ace Pro if you want to print with multiple filaments. I had nothing but issues with the Ace Pro during my time testing the Kobra 3, so the printer is better off without it if you ask me.

Anycubic Kobra X 3D Printer: was $459.99 now $299.99 at Amazon

This is the exact same deal that you'll find over at Anycubic's website, but for some reason, Amazon has inflated the "before" price to make it seem like you're getting a better deal (it's sneaky, like that).

The only benefit to shopping via Amazon is free next-day delivery of the Kobra X for Prime Members.

My advice: if you're not in a hurry, shop directly from Anycubic for better customer support and an easier warranty should anything go wrong.
