Our Verdict

Version 5 of the LaserPecker laser engraver is the best it’s ever been. With more power, faster speed, and greater detail, the LaserPecker 5 is a device that can be counted on. Its portability is one of its biggest strengths, although that does mean its work area is annoyingly small. Whether the LaserPecker 5 is for you or not is likely to come down to whether you value portability or scale.

Now in its fifth generation, the LaserPecker 5 (LP5) laser engraver is more mature than ever. The 20-watt 450 nanometre (nm) blue diode laser and 20-watt 1064 nm IR fiber laser provide everything required for engraving and cutting a wide array of materials. Options include wood, paper, leather, metals and plastics as well as a range of other items.

The major selling point of the LP5 is its size and weight, which is perfectly suited to mobile engraving. It can also be operated handheld so engravings on objects which can’t be placed underneath the unit can also be engraved upon.
