Our Verdict

The MSI Raider GE78 HX 14V is a fantastic laptop with gamers in mind. Its next-generation CPU and GPU deliver some of the best performance you'll find from a laptop at the moment. While enjoying buttery-smooth gaming you'll also benefit from a comfortable laptop and an abundance of LEDs to light your room up. The display falls short of 4K but is more than enough for any FHD games. The battery could be better and when the hardware is under stress, the fans are uncomfortably loud. All in all, this is a fantastic laptop that will appeal to gamers and to creatives working in 3D industries.

The MSI Raider GE78 HX 14V is unashamedly a gaming laptop. With a modern and edgy case and an incredible LED RGB light bar, this laptop certainly looks the part. The display would have benefited from being 4K but has instead prioritised following in the footsteps of many other gaming laptops by introducing a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Under the hood, all the hardware is top-notch and of the latest generation. Beginning with an Intel Core i9 processor HX series (14th Gen) and ending with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU, the GE78 HX 14V is at the top of the rankings. This hardware delivers great performance when it comes to processing power and video rendering.
