I'm in the middle of reviewing these great value earphones – and their price just fell!
Prime Day has taken the Juzear Defiant IEM down from $100 to $80, and they get a strong recommendation from me.
Note: My photos are of the Defiant Gamefidelity edition, which is blue, not rainbow, but they sound exactly the same as the OG Defiant that's on sale.
I love finding in-ear monitors (IEMs) that sound great but also present excellent value for money. That's exactly what the Juzear Defiant do at their modest asking price of $100. And thanks to the madness of Prime Day, you can now buy them for $80.
And I know these are excellent because they've been my main pair of IEMs for the last couple of weeks. I'm actually in the middle of reviewing them, and not to spoil the surprise but, errr, they get a high score, and a strong recommendation! They are on my list of the best budget IEMs out there, after all.
Sub-$100 star
These are a really good value IEM. They look cool in their rainbow attire, come with a quality carry case, swappable ear tips and a rainbow cable. Most importantly, they sound great, and compete with IEMs far more expensive than their modest retail price.
Sound and vision
The Defiant don't just look cool. They sound great, too. I've been comparing them to several other IEMs I own, and the best way I can describe them is an exciting, contrasty set that are a great all-rounder, and certainly amongst the best sounding of their type at the $100 mark.
In fact, they compete with IEMs twice their price. I reviewed the Kiwi Ears KE4, and loved them, but the Defiant, although differently tuned, compete in the bass department with the $200 KE4.
The Defiant would make an excellent first audiophile IEM for people dipping their toe into slightly more involved audio than the standard commercial fare.
Remember, these are wired IEMs, so you'll need to have a smartphone/music player with a 3.5mm jack to play them – or get a 3.5mm/USB-C dongle converter. Luckily, the $9 Apple DAC dongle is a classic for a reason!
